Ron Young recently was diagnosed with melanoma, a potentially deadly form of cancer that can break out anywhere in the body. It’s the malignant kind, the type of cancer that spreads and kills people. To help with the medical bills a benefit called "Forever Young" will be held on Feb 17th at Sam's Burger Joint.

Singer-songwriter Ron Young spent 14 years in Nashville writing songs for country music publishers on Music Row. A San Antonio native, Young is a former Kerrville Folk Festival finalist. He's opened shows for Billy Joe Shaver, Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Peter Rowan, and others. Ron regularly performs in restaurants and nightclubs in San Antonio and New Braunfels, including Oma Gruene's, Casbeers, the Scenic Loop Cafe, Olmos Bharmacy, Mi Casa Tamales, and Beto's, Sam's Burger Joint, among others.
